For those trying to understand how dtdsearcher got pulled over it is because of this;
Shop1 -input details get voucher - uses email1
Shop2 -use voucher 1, input details - uses email1
Shop3 -same
Shop4 -same
Shop5 -shops, uses voucher (from email1) and because voucher would breach £100, then uses email2 to start cycle again.
The bad one
Shop6 - uses DTD voucher 5, gets stopped, and on receipt 5 the voucher used at the bottom did not come from email2, but email1, hence why CS cannot match it.
Now lets say for argument that he got away with shop6 and it was shop7 when they pulled him, he would be OK as the same email address was on both the DTD voucher and the voucher used to pay for the receipt from shop6.
Either very bad luck, or he works for Tesco and is BS'ing us (oh now don't try and tell me you hadn't at least considered this scenario).
Which store was it, perhaps others might have experience of it?
From my point of view, I would like to have explained it like this.
Well sir, the coupon on the bottom of your receipt didn't come from any claim made on the email address you just used to get the DTD voucher. To which I reply, well no it probably didn't, because when I input a claim at work I use my work email address, and when I am at home I use the home one, why, does it matter?
I thought you could have £100 per month per household, and I know I've only used xxx.
Of course that's a complete bluff as I know damn well I've exceeded £100 already and it's only the 15th.I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!
Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569

Tonight I had a really nice older (60s) lady sa. She had never seen a voucher. She had never heard about vouchers. She had had no training on the vouchers and was delighted when told how they worked.
4 weeks in, unbelievable!!!Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -
wow dtdsearchers story scares me! i use 2 email address ( neither r at the limit of £100) but thought by changing from one to other i wouldnt have an issue. maybe ii should max out one email then move onto email 2. hmm. or maybe DTDsearcher is just trying to scare us.
anyway i was in a store today and as SA was checking my reciept she mentioned she hadnt seen 'many' of these she was like wow how do u get so much just from buying wine? i was like i dont know my friend told me how nice this wine was so i tryed it and herd about your price check policy * smile sweetly*, she was like right i know what im buying after my shift hahah... i said ' i bet you would get staff discount too...double bargain' then the guy behind me perked up and went 'suprisingly i have a voucher too, we have all got them ha'. i laugh as i glance at his predictable shopping and he gives me a knowing look * milk/easter eggs/beans/magnums lol ! maybe it was another MSE? =DI am a full time Benefit and Money Adviser for a leading non profit charity and I LOVE my job

DTD searcher - sorry for your traumatic day but I think that there is inevitably going to be a 'fight or flight' response to it by many other MSE'ers and not clarifying the area or county at least may be leading to others questioning your ordeal a little so probably would be helpful if you can mention the store - no skin off your nose as you won't be visiting there but others may fall prey to the same issue without knowing IYKWIM.
And I think this is a classic case of 'lets set an example' - appreciate that you say that your Clubcard wasn't mentioned in the backstage area but it is apparent that using it for every single transaction (£100 per day for x days) will have been mentioned by H.O. as all it took was the SA to mention your clubcard details or people at HO to pull up the receipt details and look into your Clubcard account to see a vast amount of around £20 shops 5 times a day for x days and put 2 & 2 together. This means that the majority of people here will be approaching future visits with trepidation and I think that we all know that using a Clubcard is the one inevitable factor that means that they have unequivocal evidence against you. I am not trying to judge you as many of us are 'bending the T&C's here' - that doesn't mean we're acting in any criminal manner but exploiting a loophole that Mr T has brought upon themselves.
On balance, I think that the key here is that a stone cold alibi to any disputes is either those already suggested, or the one I will certainly be using along the lines of 'my aunt is housebound and asked me to do her shop' - I will pay cash this time and then clarify her e-mail address with her when I get home and she can use it against next weeks shopping. No entry into the backroom (oo-er) nor detention needed - you have given them the option you will pay by cash and walk away if the situation becomes untenable.
But to other DTDers do not let this dissuade you from continuing - it's a scary story for sure and I can only imagine how it was for DTDsearcher but now you know the scenario, you can plan how to deal with it and not be afraid to persist. Like I say, I am not judging, but there is no doubt in my mind that H.O. will have been able to provide more than enough rope from the transaction number at the bottom of your voucher to assist you in the trauma they then put you through, unfairly or otherwise.
Just my opinion but keeping under the radar and having a back up plan and not trying to build up your clubcard points is key to any successful DTD swoop for me both historically and going forward.0 -
