Just wombled a receipt, really excited as it was my first. Just got home to input the number but guess what? I've wombled a DTD receipt lol It's been scribbled all over and if that wasn't a giveaway then the purchases sure are: Red Wine £9.49 (must be Wolf Blass) Shower Gel £2.37 (must be Lynx) and Beef joint £10.12 :-)
28/04/11 - A bad day for shoppers everywhere (Tesco shoppers that is!) RIP DTD :A

Thanks for this - an absolute nightmare! Especially as it took so long with you having your little one with you.
They must be on the ball a bit more in some stores.:(

Ironically, the call to HO only came about because they weren't trained properly in the fact the vouchers were always a digit out.

Had they been more on the ball I would have been ok.

I have just used yesterdays voucher to purchase items today , the voucher i used was for 18.82 and my total shop was for 25.73 .

    On my recepit it says

    total 25.73
cash 18.82 <<< should say coupon or voucher !
    cash 7.01 << cash i paid
    change due 0.10

It now looks like an all cash purchase !!

Ive just notice they undercharged me on 1L smirnoff (they charged me 18.00 i never notcied till now instead of 20.49 as shown on SEL )

So now my voucher will be couple quid short tomorrow Grrrrrr
Sounds like your £2.49 up in cash terms down £4.98 in vouchers.
    No big deal really.

    ALL DTD'ERS PLEASE READ:-

A quick word of warning based on my experiences of today.

I went to do my first DTD shop today and the SA was checking the voucher as normal - had never seen one before and said one of the numbers didn't match (why Tesco haven't fixed this by now - god knows) so called over the supervisor. Fine. It was a supervisor I hadn't seen before so I wasn't worried. However, this SA had never seen one before and wouldn't accept it for the same reason (one number didn't match). Told her they are all like that and to check with HO if she wanted to. I went with her to customer services and she rang head office who confirmed to her that that was the way the vouchers came out - they then asked me to confirm my email address to verify it was my voucher before I could use it. Confirmed the email address I had 'created' to enter the details for this voucher (I made up a new email address each day for my set of vouchers - did 5 shops a day and this way never exceeded my £100 limit) He then said that the supervisor had advised him that there was a coupon payment on the receipt for a certain figure and I had told her that was a DTD voucher.

I was then taken through to the back to talk privately...........

So when I spoke to him again, the first thing that he said that that figure did not match any of the figures of the vouchers sent to the email address that I had given him, so he asked what email address the voucher I paid for my previous shopping had been generated from. Told him (and at this point we both realised that he knew the 'patttern' of the email addresses that I was using) - I won't say what the pattern is on here, but pretty basic.

He said that he was satisfied that I had deliberately made up email addresses in order to get round the terms and conditions of obtaining £100 per month, and it was obvious I had to be fair.

At that point he told me that I was barred from every Tesco in the country and that my image was on the CCTV and that the picture would be sent to every store, and if I went in any Tesco store again I would be tresspassing and that they would press charges against me.

I've gone over it pretty quickly here, but it was nearly 3 hours from when I entered the shop until I left, and I had my 2 year old with me.

Just be careful when input your email addresses for your vouchers, they are obviously tightening things up a bit, so my advice would be keep the vouchers on a cycle of the same email address (if that makes sense) - even if you have 4 or 5 email addresses on the go at once, try to keep your new voucher 'linked' to the previous voucher by email address to stop things like this happening again.

It was good while it lasted but my DTD days are over (even if the tresspassing charge was an idol threat, I don't want to risk it - wouldn't be worth it) so it's now down to my better half to be the DTD'er. Just means we will now get 4 DTD shops a week rather than 5 a day.

Hope this information hels some people.

This has terrified me! I'm now wondering if I have the nerve to even spend my remaining vouchers let alone create new ones.:(

How come the value didn't match up to the voucher sent though? I don't understand that bit.

DTDsearcher - I wonder what would have happened if you couldnt remember your email address? My OH can never remember his. Or if you are doing the shopping for an elderly neighbour, would you know their email addy? I really feel for you, it must have been REALLY awkward...makes me worry even more now.
Please God, help me stop spending!

How awful for you. Thought i was having a bad day - yours must have been truely terrible :grouphug:

Oh yes, to make things worse when I got home I realised that the stitching had come undown all the way down the back of my shoe where the heel goes so I can't wear them anymore, only had them about 6 weeks!!!

    Never buy Ted Baker shoes!
  • That seems like the best way but I was doing 5 shops a day, and entering those receipt numbers in as soon as I got home to do the same the next day. To put everyone at ease though this would suggest that they are not linking things by clubcard at all as I always used my clubcard and he never mentioned that once.

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    5 shops a day!!!

    How did you manage it?

I don't want to get into any arguments or anything, and I'm certainly not judging, but 5 shops a day is obviously a lot and you must have been generating £100 PER DAY?? If this is the case then perhaps it is not surprising that you have been caught out - again I don't mean that in an accusing way, just that it might stop others worrying that they might be the next to be frogmarched out of Tesco because if they are sticking to the rules, then this is probably unlikely, but if they are generating similar amounts of vouchers then perhaps more likely? I just don't want eveyone now going into a mad panic and stopping altogether cos that feeds right into Mr T's greedy little palm.
