Sorry if it has already been posted but a programme last night had the asda advert saying the beef was being rolled back to £4.00 per kilo until May. Hope this helps

    Asda £4..

    DTD £10.74

quick £20 voucher from just a £8 spend...

how do you work this out? you would either get a voucher for 10.74 for a 9.37 spend or to get a voucher for 20.00 you would have to buy 2 spending 18.74???
It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Hey guys I am off to tesco now to do my first dtd shop, is it my understanding that I can only get a £20 voucher therefore would be better returning to store. I have a few items that will take it over the £20 voucher. I know you guys are probably fed up of questions like this. Any help appreciated

I'm not quite sure what you are asking here, can you clarify please?

Yesterday, I overheard a supervisor explaining the DTD scheme to the check out person. She said "Tesco's have spent £120 milion on an advertising campaign ect ect "

Now while £120 million is a massive overestimate the figure is very high for these type of add campaigns. A more likely figure is £30-40 Million! So Mr T has already paid for all the TV , newspaper ads , in store banners ect .

So if Mr T has already spent all this money he is unlikely to withdraw the offer and admit that Mr T's is not cheaper than Mr A.

99% of Mr T's customers will believe the advertising , they will think that if they say they are cheaper and back it up with the DTD then it must be true!

So all the new customers they will gain and existing customers they will retain far outweigh any money they are losing via the dedicated DTDers on here.

I went to a local extra last Saturday which has about 20 tills , the shop was packed , all tills open , I estimate that the shop would be taking IRO £50,000 an hour during the peak hours and this is just one shop on one day! I think we are just a nuisance. If they were going to cancel the DTD they would have done so when they reduced the max DTD to £20. I think they will run the offer for as long as they originally intended , probably until Mr A ends their offer ( As Mr T's offer was in response to Mr A's offer ).

Another comment recently heard from a manager to a check out person was " This is a Mr T promotion , you do not need to worry about it. Just check the numbers on the receipt and if they ar correct scan the discount " the check out person was worried aout Mr T's profits!

So any problems with check out staff is just that , a problem with the individual applying their own rules or locally made up rules, I had a problem at one store and after half an hour I got bored and walked away, the store staff were awful. I just went to another store.

In MHO I think DTD is to stay for the long term. Long live DTD.
