Okay had an experience tonight.
Using my local store, I decided to buy the 1L of Smirnoff using a £20 Voucher from a cash £16 buy on Sunday. I had a few other items in the basket to push it up towards the £20 again. Anyway got to the til and first and foremost...you can get another litre for another £6...no thanks, just need the one bottle...everything gets scanned and then i produce the voucher. The woman didnt know what to do so over came the Supervisor/Mangager. You just need to doublecheck the numbers and then scan it in...well the numbers dont match (missing digit), so need to phone CS. 10 minutes later and I'm still waiting....is it worth it (I think to myself)...I get called over to the desk and am asked what my email address is...they have been asked to ask from the CS staff on the phone.....mmmmm, not heard this one....I thankfully remember for that particular receipt and tell them...they cant repeat is as such so I have to speak to CS and spell out the email address....everything checks out and hunky dory from them onwards...my local store now know that there may be a missing digit. So get to pay for the remainder of my shop and the Manager asks...how do you do this, although I probably are not allowed to do it? I tell her vaguely and mention the DTD, she says...yes it's our policy to give double the difference...then looks at my new receipt and says....you know, Smirnoff is £13 a bottle in Asda...is it I say...and I can see the coggs working in her head....I might need to get my son to look at this pricecheck site she says....I walk out...happy again.
The morale of the story is this....please remember what email addresses you are using and remember to say the correct one if asked....as i had the sneaky feeling that I would have had my voucher declined if I got it wrong.
I actually think this is the best form of attack. Get the trouts onside too. I often talk to the girls and lads, with a wink and a nod. Makes like a lot easier. After all it isn't their cash. Many are just about scraping by themselves.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Whilst in tesco tonight they were busy turning various SELs up which means they are going on promo ( tonight is a main promo changeover day)
As I grabbed the last two aquafresh minty pump toothpastes, I noticed it's SEL was turned too so if it's on your list for tomorrow, make sure you double check the price first.0 -

gonna take it back and tell em my other half just picked to big of a size !!
This is only my personal opinion - I don't want to get involved in any disussions of morality, criminality, fraud or any of the other accusations that some people are fond of banging on about! BUT, I can't really see that its fair to take back fresh food such as expensive joints of meat just because its not price matched - especially if its just that you've unfortunately made a boo boo and picked up the wrong joint! Even though its all spelled out on the SS there will still be times when it goes wrong and it seems very questionable to take stuff back when Tesco will just have to 'bin' the food . Surely this is one time when we should take it on the chin and accept the loss?ELITE 5:2

does anyone know if the spread sheet can be used on the iphone???
Works on windows mobile as well, thank you (though tricky to keep track of the row when scrolling the columns/screen).
If someone could develop an app where you can find replacement products for £X when something is out of stock (like Tesco's online service where they offer you an equivalent if out of stock, but for this app it would offer you a similar priced item to make up your list - price being cost and predicted DTD to match your voucher and £20 next voucher!), then that would be appreciated thank you.
Oh, and for the spreadsheet updaters, if you could implement a macro to do similar (put in current DTD voucher value, automatically produces a list of items to buy to equal current DTD voucher price but to maximise next DTD voucher closer to £20 limit, that would be fantastic! You could have a tick box input to select preferences by category etc and it could also produce a shopping list with a column to tick off and automatically print or send to iPhone/smart phone ...
Only joking, all work on the spreadsheet and assistance on here is greatly appreciated (particularly with how fast this thread grows!).
It seems to have got a bit serious around here, please play nicely with each other. IMHO, bragging about how much you have caned this offer is probably not the best approach and is just rubbing it in for the Tesco online monitoring team (), no matter what people's standpoint is on the rights and wrongs of limits (ultimately, few on here, if they are maximising the value to £20, is using the offer as intended, so interesting to see where different people's lines are being crossed!).

I can't believe that in my 2 local Tescos there is still a couple of SA that have never seen a voucher and dont know what to do with it... And there's plenty of DTD stuff on the shelves i guess I am the only person DTDing in that area;)0

Funny you say that. My wife just popped her head around the living room door, after getting ready for bed, and said 'no cup of tea tonight because we've ran out of milk' :rotfl:
And I've got half of Tesco's inventory in our cupboards. Made me laugh. Anyway I'll open one of their cans of coke from a couple of weeks back.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0
