Hi,
My roof will be completely re-done. Are roof valleys still made of lead (I want a good quality material and finish)? I'm guessing new build houses use a cheaper (perhaps less adequate material)?
Thanks

Yes, they can be. It is a skill still taught to trainee plumbers.0

In our new build the roof gulleys are made of lead but they have used zinc for the ridge line (I would have prefered lead but they have supposedly double nailed the zinc and the architect speced zinc
).
Gloomendoom do you not mean roofers?0 -

It may be nice to have lead, but the local scum will nick it soon enough. The price of lead makes it well worth the effort unfortunately!0

That rather depends on where the OP lives. I'm planning to use lead on my next project and, given the almost non existent crime rate around here, I don't expect any problems.0
