Tesco - Glitch - 40% off clothing instead of 20%

When in Tesco today I overheard that there was an error with the clothing promotion - apparently 20% off offer was to be extended but today the tills are taking off 40% - until it gets fixed.

Tried a purchase of £21 to test this and it did deduct the 40%. I also used a £4 off £20 spend on kids clothing too and this was also accepted...

Hope someone else gets a bargain.......

Just wanted to say I am not sure if this glitch is everywhere or just in my local store? Anyone?

Wife tells me that 40% at Extra Kingsway - Dundee at 3pm this afternoon. Saved a packet but still spent £50. :eek: :eek:

I bought some jeans in the Brighouse store this afternoon (c. 3pm) and it only took 20% off (£3 off £15).

Well how I wish I hadn't rushed out ....................

I did a shop including a lovely party outfit , PJ's for the kiddies etc etc, a bottle of sherry and a bottle of finest port, cat food, cat stocking, ribena and assorted other items. Chose a male SA, he scanned everything, total was considerably reduced ........... went to pay with tesco credit card then my problems began arghhhhhhhh it said to refer to issuer so I was escorted to CS.

I knew it was OK because I know I had funds available, however, CS had to phone them apparently it has been used alot lately and they wanted to check if the cardholder could actually shop at so many Tescos LOL

The issuer was happy so the CS had to recall the transaction and then re-scan all my vouchers, this is where the problems came - some vouchers wouldn't scan and she said she wasn't sure of the voucher policy - anyway, she moaned, groaned and stated it wasn't her job to be a checkout voucher scanner !!

Eventually - I got all my money off - either off my bill or given back in cash but the whole episode took over 50 minutes to sort out !

I only got 20% but lets just say this girl eventually had a great shop today. I hope no fellow local Msers were there cos I hadn't applied my slap so looked abit rough LOL
