Decorating nightmare - help

We have just decorated our bathroom - walls blue and ceiling white. However, today when we were removing the masking tape from the ceiling (which was there to prevent any blue paint from getting onto the white ceiling) parts of the white paint were coming off too stuck to the masking tape. Now we have to redecorate the ceiling again which means masking up the blue walls where they touch the celing and risking when we come to remove the masking tape again this time from the walls, the blue paint might be coming off in places. And so the cycle will continue.
Is there anything we can do to stop the masking tape taking paint with it when being removed? We used scotch masking tape if this makes any difference. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

True. Or try to get low tack tape & only use this once you are sure the blue walls are totally dry. Failing that, put in cornice moulding.Learn to paint properly, "cutting in" is an art.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Cuttin-in is quite difficult for the Diyer, and as the making tape has removed some of the clue paint, you might have to sand where its peeled off.
When masking tape is being removed from the roll its very sticky, so of course will rip the paint off underneath.
The trick is to loosen the stickyness from your lengths of masking tape, but still leave enough stickyness to stay on the wall/ceiling.
if you dont have the low tack masking tape and just have ordinary masking tape, then tear lengths off the roll.
If your wearing and old pair of jeans for decorating, or old trousers, place some lengths on your jeans, then peel off the length, place back on the jeans, remove again, this eliminates the grippy stickyness of the tape, but still enough to stay put without ripping the paint on your wall.
As soon as the walls are dried remove masking tape immediately.
You will find by doing this that there is no paint being removed by the tape, or if there is its very very minimal.:)0 -

Thank you! Excellent advice. Will try that. Just one more question what is a low tack marking tape and where can I buy some? Didnt see any in B&Q. Happy to order some on the internet and wait if it helps getting the job done properly.Cuttin-in is quite difficult for the Diyer, and as the making tape has removed some of the clue paint, you might have to sand where its peeled off.
