Are Daewoo fridge freezers reliable?

Was wondering on how Daewoo brand fare in terms of reliabilty. Had a look on internet and could not find anything nasty unless someone can recommend a website to look for reliability etc etc

The one i am interested in is

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/daewoo-frsu20ids-american-style-fridge-freezer-stainless-steel-04216412-pdt.html
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

  • Hi Wazza

I have a Daewoo American style fridge freezer. It`s black with a water and ice dispenser. I`v had it nearly 4 years. It cost 600 pounds. It came from Currys.

It runs superbly...occasionally it makes weird noises from the ice making compartment. Other than that it is very quiet. It cleans up beautifully.

It is very big - we had to take all the packaging off and then the doors just to get it through the back door of my house lol, but now it`s here it`s not going anywhere.

I would like the freezer to be bigger, but that`s just the way with American style fridges. We often have empty shelves in the fridge part, so we now keep sauces and jams and eggs in it just to use the space.

I don`t know the maths, but I believe big American fridge freezers cost more to run than traditional ones. I wouldn`t let that put you off

I hope I have many, many years before I need to replace it, but without a doubt it would be with an American style one again. And no reason so far why it wouldn`t be a Daewoo.

Can you tell I love my fridge???
