I do mystery shopping and get paid £X for each assignment which is usually at a bank or building society and normally takes less than 10 mins.

Less than 10 mins to allocate the job, read a brief, complete and submit the briefing quiz, print out the notes, double check that you know the questions you have to ask, travel to the location, pay to park, wait and pay for the bus etc, check you have the correct location, note lefts and rights, take photographs if required, wait in the queue (sometimes two queues), complete the assignment, travel home, complete the questionnaire, proof read your work and check for accuracy, occasionally make a telephone call to report urgent issues and then deal with any follow up enquiries from the company you are working for. (Not forgetting to detail the assignment on your records for your tax return at the end of the year)

You are a much more efficient mystery shopper than me ....

I've just started mystery shopping in the last few weeks.

My personal opinion would be that it's great, IF you pick and choose your jobs.
There is no point in driving somewhere out of your way for a £5-10 job. However, if you are going shopping anyway, why not have a free lunch and maybe a free item from a shop. I like the restuarant jobs myself, you do not make any cash, but it's lovely to have a free dinner.

I agree, however if you are serious try and combine the mileage from companies such as React and try and get shops from RE, RA, GFk ect in the same town that way you are being paid your travel expenses and you can make the most out of being in that town! Also, don't forget to register with HMRC!

    Most importantly ENJOY IT! :-)

I work in the main shopping area, and do about 3 mystery shops a week in my half an hour lunch break, so it doesn't cost any extra travel/petrol, and I get bored easily so gives me something to do at lunch once I have quickly eaten!

I do usally have to take a pic of the shop which is easily done on my Blackberry, and writing the report takes me about 10-15 minutes, which I do whilst watching TV!

I have only been doing it for about 3 months but so far have had free meals at the airport, free fast food, dvds, cds, jewellery, xbox games, clothes from high end shops, sports equipment, plus the assignment fee of about £5, some shops I get to spend up to £20 paid for in so is good for birthdays and Christmas!!!!

I thought it would be hard to sort out the Self Tax H&M Customs (you know what I mean lol!!!!!) but even I have worked out how to do it - which means anyone can as I am not always good at stuff that seems complicated - but it is all sorted.

So from my point of view I really enjoy it but then it is easy for me as I am already in town.

    xxx
