Work Messed Up?

Well i have had alot of problems with my lloyds tsb bank account so i opened a new account with RBS and changed my bank details with work on 30th March 2011 on the form it stated that they need four days notice before the payroll is run. Now ive been told we are paid via BACS which takes two days. I get paid on the 7th of each month which would bring it to the 5th when it is run. and with the form saying 4 days that brings it down to the 1st which i still gave two days notice. now i believe someone basically forgot to change my details. My work paid my wages into my old account now more fraud has happened and my wages have gone and i can not pay any of my bills or car insurance. My insurance has now been cancelled and having major issues getting to work is a major problem. From me working out the dates above i believe it is my works problem and they should pay the money into my new account as they should of in the first place and deal with lloyds tsb. Am i right in believing all this as my supervisor said there is nothing they can do but i find this very unfair with what they are doing and saying. any help greatly appreciated

    Can you prove that you handed your paperwork to the right person in plenty of time? If so then the business should be helping you to resolve the problem.

    I suggest you ask for a meeting with the HR Manager or Payroll manager and present your case to them, if that does not work then submit a grievance using you company's grievance proceedure.

    I'm presuming that the other account was overdrawn and you wages have been swallowed up.

    You can complain to your HR dept but I can guarantee you 100% they arent going to pay you again.
    Mistakes happen, they may loan you some money but that will be at their discretion.

  • my old account has had alot of fraud on it online and it being investigated by lloyds tsb for the third time thats the reason i opened a new account as it has happened so much. I handed it to my supervisor in on the 30th march so there was plenty of time to sort it out

    also yes i can prove i handed it in then as in an e-mail i sent him about this issue he admitted i handed it in on the 30th

    If your old account has had fraud, why aren't they assisting, they must have had the money?
  • lloyds tsb have sent out forms for me to read and sign confirming it is fraud my wages went into my old account and now there is 84p available and tsb cant even tell me where it has gone, however all direct debits were cancelled and i havent used the card which i think is blocked anyway so im confused. but thats not the issue at the minute its the issue of my work messing up my info even when it was given in before the required time. is there anything i can do?

    well not really, you need to get access to your funds, which Lloyds seems the logical point there.

    Perhaps if there are bank charges, the bank might cover them, or your employer might cover them if they believe it is their fault.

    I am not understanding the fraud thing though, at all. I did once have an issue where someone used my card fraudulently but Lloyds were extremely efficient in crediting my account
  • Last time it happened Lloyds tsb were great but for some reason this time they seem like they dont care. i opened my new account and changed all my direct debits over. now obviously expecting my wages to go in the new account i cancelled them all online with lloyds tsb. now my wages went in my tsb account and only 84p is available when ive rang them for about the 100th time they said they cant tell me where it has gone as its in pending when explaining no money at all should be coming out they simply said to keep an eye on my online banking and when it shows where its gone to ring them back

    I am struggling to understand. So your Lloyds account was overdrawn, wages has gone in and has left you with 84p.

    And the overdrawn element is purely down to fraud? Can you not draw any more on the overdraft to pay off any imminent DD which I presume are now set up with the new bank?

    You might need to go into a branch tomorrow and speak to one of their personal banker types. I forget their exact title, but I know I had to do this recently for a change of address error, and she saw the problem through to its conclusion.

    Your employer might not have processed it in time, given the tight turnaround but they have paid you, so you just need to resolve the whereabouts of the money. Unless they can reverse that payment somehow, then reapply it, but I dont know on that score.
  • no, i dont have an overdraft at all. my wages went into my account and over the two days went straight back out even though no direct debits were set up and no payments made with the card because of the amount of fraud on my account thats why i changed it. now up to over 1500 over the past few months and Lloyds tsb are still messing around ive been down the complaints route with the bank making formal complints and its gone no where. i dont know what to do now. apart from when it shows where the money has gone get lloyds to get it back but dont know how long it will take and i have more and more charges from my new bank due to direct debits not being paid

    I think you missed the cutoff.

    * Payday is Thursday 7th.
    * BACS is Tuesday 5th.
    * Cutoff for new details is 4 days before BACS day.
    * 4 business days before BACS is then Wednesday 30th.

    You've calculated calendar days, they're working on business days. Unless your payroll office is staffed 7 days a week that'd be perfectly normal.

    Sorry,
