Just when we are thinking that prices have peaked and are likely to fall next year, along comes another report stating the opposite. Can you imagine what the cost of gas and electric will be in 20-30 years when all the North sea oil has gone.:sad:

    and inflation will still only be 2% .......
    If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

    By that time I will be generating my own electricity mehopes :) For about £5k you can get a superb whole-house generation system and also sell your surplus back to the national grid and make a bob or two.

    As it will obviously pay for itself in around 5 years it seems worth the investment to get one, plus you're green from the moment it's installed :)

    We have to remember that the inflation fogure is the result of all price movements weighted. Theoretically, at least, it could be less or more than 2%. I would be wary of wanting too low a rise, as it might ride on a massive recession and unemployment.

    The article does not state AFAICS a time scale for this 100% rise, which includes, as the writrer has not included a phrase like 'above normal price adjustments', the normal adjustments.

    With shock articles one aways must consider qui bono- to whose benfit
