Temporary car insurance for recently-qualified driver

Hi all,

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I may be able to obtain short-term car insurance cover for my in-laws' car? I need cover for approximately a fortnight, but only passed my test last month. The in-laws have only just renewed their insurance with Saga, who won't add an additional driver to the policy unless they have been driving for at least one year.

Any suggestions welcome.

Unless they move insurers you might be stuck.
Car insurance is normally a 12 month contract - not many insurers will offer less (knowingly) my only advice is to seek a broker.

there are a number of companies who will do insurance by the day/week/month, google is your friend here.

they can be quite expensive (£20+/day) and might have age/driving experience restrictions.
