My current Malware (Malwarebytes) scanner is doing my head in - it keeps saying that there's malware in outlook and on word documents, however when I do a scan on AVG, nothing.
Can anyone recommend an alternative so that I can 100% sure?
Thanks!

Hi, try Spybot Search & Destroy (free download). Or Ad-Aware is another popular one (Lavasoft). I've used both in the past.0

Has Malwarebytes identified the malware? Why not just remove it?0

I've tried, but it didn't make a difference. I even ran it past AVG.
Anyway, it's been a while since that happened and it seems to have fixed itself (rather bizzarely). Think it might of been a glitch, but I'm not happy nevertheless.0 -

I would have more faith in Malwarebytes than AVG, if MBAM is saying something is there then just post the log file.
The other alternative is to try Superantispyware portable but would recommend running CCleaner first to get rid of any dross.0 -
I use Avast and Spybot S&D on Win XP as I've found too many conflicts with other progs in the past. I tried Ad-Aware recently but not too keen on it (no prob, just personal preference). The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0

hamster, do yourself a favour and uninstall avg, run the avg removal tool and install avira or avast instead. Malwarebytes is the best general-purpose malware prog out there. As fiddiweb says above, would ALWAYS trust mbam over avg
..AND as per RIK's request, post the mbam log that was "finding" stuff. With AVG the chances are you could well be infected and AVG would never know..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
