We are going to this site this weekend in a non haven unit and wanted to know are the passes just for getting into the bars at night?
Would we need them to use the pool during the day?
just thinking to save some money do we really need to get them when we could use pub off site but if we need them for the kids to swim during the day then we may need to get them.
Any advice please
Also are there buses from Blackpool town centre to the site?

We went to a different Haven site last (Hafan-y-Mor in Pwllheli) and you needed a pass to get into the swimming pool there so I'd guess there'll be a similar rule for other Haven sites.
The strange thing at Hafan-y-Mor was that in order to get into the main venue (the ShowBar) you had to show your pass to the security on the door, however there was a Burger King in the same building which had access from both the outside as well as from inside of the ShowBar itself so if you sneaked in via Burger King you could bypass the security guards and get in without a pass (n.b. we had passes so we didn't need to do this). The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Hi I was there at this site in Oct/ Nov last year. In answer to your question, yes you will need the passes to access the pool. Passes will allow you to use the bars, pool, amusements and fish and chip shop (though to be honest I would give that a miss it wasn't that nice when we tried it) Think that also gives you access to the outdoor play area too, though I can't be sure, my little one was too small to use it so did n't really look into how to access it- could be wrong on that one!
Yes there were buses that went from the site to Blackpool, but I on't know if that a general thing or just because the illuminations were on. They seemed to have bus stand set up so I assume these run all year round, but could ask when you get there. It's really close to Blackpool and if there are many of you it may work out cheaper going in the car and finding one of the cheaper one price full day car parks than it would paying for bus tickets.

Would passes be needed for during the day as I've been to other sites where they only have door staff during the day.
We have booked a non haven unit without passes but if they only have door staff in eves Then we will have to make sure we are in there before door staff start and not go outside lol
Where the site is do you know if there are any pubs or chip shops off the site but near the site?
We are going by train so will have to get to site by bus from blackpool also is there a beach at the site?0 -

There were staff on day and night, but mind that being said I don't think we actually showed our passed to be honest, but I guess that would be a risk you would have to be willing to take. Can't remember seeing a chip shop in walking distance but there is a pub on the main road near the traffic lights that you turn into to reach the park which does food. Don't know what it's like but it is the nearest one in walking distance that I saw. As I said there were buses at the time I was there and there did seem to be a bus stand area at the entrance of the park, taxi could could be another option. It really isn't that far away from the main part of blackpool. The site itself does not have beach. Its quite deceptive, you turn in from a main road at a set of traffic lights (where pub is) travel down a road which is full of houses then you turn left and there it is. We thought we were going the wrong way. It appeared to be a bit industrial further up the road but you wouldn't know it once you enter the site. Its like its own little world.
I would have a google of the bus transport for blackpool to marton mere, thats how I knew there was an illumations bus running when we went.0 -
The taxis have set fares to and from the park to blackpool apparently.0

Do they do day passes just in case we want to go into bars 1 nite out of our 2 nites there?0

Most haven parks allow you to buy an individual day pass if you want to go in once... Prices will vary from park to park. Give them a ring.0

From memory, there is a pub just outside the park which is far nicer.0

My parents used to have a static there about 5 years ago. Sometimes the security were there and sometimes not, and sometimes they cared and sometimes not! We did have to show our passes to use the swimming pool one time as it was extremely busy, and sometimes at night to get in to the "entertainment" as they called it.
The pub that everyone else has been talking about was quite nice, the Zoo isn't too far away, and there is a bus that runs directly into Blackpool, although I can't remember how much it cost. I'd skip the little fish and chip shop (it was awful), and the food int he cafe wasn't up to much either. Theres a Tesco Extra about 5 mins away in the car, and then there is a KFC and McD's a bit further down the road. PM me if you want any more info!0
