Car Alarm

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has any answers to my nan's problem.

She owns a Ford (04 reg I think) and for a while she's had problems with the alarm going off if she unlocks the car from the front passenger's side, however, recently the alarm has started going off if she opens any door, even when unlocked. The hazard lights will also flash non-stop.

Is there anything we can do or should we just send it to a garage?

Thanks.

Sounds like the key has lost it's code, and the car thinks it's being broken in to.

Probably needs to go to Ford for reprogramming.

If unlocking with the key and not the remote fob you need to start the engine or switch the ignition on
within 20/30 seconds otherwise the alarm sounds.

I agree with changing the battery before taking it in anywhere, weird and seemingly unrelated things happen when the battery gets low, it's normally a couple of quid for a battery from Tesco, don't forget the hold the two buttons down usually reprogrammes it once it's been changed.
