Small Project - Need Help With Shopping List

Hi,
We recently moved in to a house which has a conservatory situated beneath a bedroom window. Unfortunately the seagulls have taken a liking to the roof, which mean we are constantly trailing the garden hose through the house so that we can wash the roof from the bedroom window.
What i would like to do is get a tap splitter for the outdoor tap and run a hose against the wall of the house to the bedroom window sill, where i can hook the end of it, saving me a lot of time when wanting to wash the conservatory roof.
The outdoor tap is on the side of the house, conservatory is at the back of the house, aprox 12 meters away.
I've thought of using 15mm saddle clips to secure the hose to the wall is it's all neat and tidy, and obviously leaving a fair amount of hose at the end so it has some play when in use.
I already have a premium hozelock hose ready to use and will drain it in the icey cold months so not to cause any splitting.
Being a complete novice i wondered if anyone with some diy experience could agree that the above idea is feasible, and if not suggest any alternative ideas?
With the above idea being good, can someone please recommend to me an online retailer that can provide the materials at the cheapest price.
Tap Splitter
15mm Saddle Clips - not sure how many?
screws - what size?
wall plugs - again what size?
I already have the hose, connectors, and spray gun.
Many Thanks for any feedback given and hopefully you can save me a few pennies in not paying b&q prices.

Thinking about it, saddle clips are made from Copper and in the hot months could damage the hose, so probably better with some sort of plastic pipe clip.0

Cheers, I was actually looking at these as a cheaper alternative, even when you add 200 screws and plugs http://www.screwfix.com/p/contract-pipe-clip-15mm-pack-of-100/11880
(the ones you linked are discontinued and the instock ones are £4.49)
I just wonder which type will be more effective?0 -
the contract ones are better, we used to use em all the time. but you have to drill all those holes!Get some gorm.0

Thanks, think i'm going to go with the contract ones. Like you said going to take a lot more time drilling those holes, but that's the only negative. The positives are that even with the screws and plugs it works out cheaper, plus i'll have a load of them left over, and another positive it that should the hose get damaged in the future it will be easy just to unclip and replace.
Thanks again for your advice.0 -
It would be a lot easier to buy a Hozelock telescopic lance .Forgotten but not gone.0

Unfortuatley this wouldn't work for us, or at least would be even more impracticle due to one side of the conservatory being level with nextdoor, and their garden is aprox 5ft lower than ours as we are on a hill. So at best it would mean getting a ladder out each time, moving it around, and it constantly making dents in the lawn.
The way i purpose would mean less cost, no unravelling of the hose, and simply turn the tap on, go upstairs and spray.
Thanks for the idea though, as it may solve another problem we have.0 -
what about buying some sort of gull deterrant instead?0

what about buying some sort of gull deterrant instead?
Interesting idea, the gulls don't land on our roof just poop on it. I see that perhaps holographic scare tape could be used to keep them away, but we have a neighbour 2 doors away that feeds them every day. He gets through a massive bag of bird seed each week, so i'm pretty sure the gulls wouldn't go away.
In addition we are less than 100 metres from the sea and get a lot of salt on the windows, so we have to wash them minimum of once every 2 weeks anyway.
Thanks for the idea though.
Back to the original idea, I wondered if anyone can double check if my shopping list is correct in regards to the correct sizes, or anything that i may have missed? Due to the £5 delivery charge i would hate to have missed something, or got the wrong size.
Contract Pipe Clip 15mm Pack of 100 £1.99
Goldscrew™ Countersunk 4 × 25mm Pack of 200 £1.54
Wall Plug Red 4-5mm Drill Dia. 6mm Pack of 100 £0.45
¾" BSP Dual Tap Connector £6.69
Hose Clips 12-20mm Pack of 10 £2.95
I already have the hose and spray gun.
Guess i'm just looking for verification that i've got the right size screws and wall plugs and that the screws are compatiable with the contract pipe clip.
Thanks again everyone.0 -
