I can understand that you guys suspect my motivation in this matter
I do not suspect your motivation at all (and have tried to convey that) just that if anything looks untoward then it may take longer whilst the insurer investigates.
I didn't realise that these safes (which I have one of) were quite so easy to get into.
You ahev my sympathies for losing items of senitmental value.Even if the insurance were to payout, they will not pay me more than £1000 per item
But if that's the max single item limit and your items were worth more, then it looks like you were simply underinsured (which is not an excuse for them to treat you so badly).
Yes I would definitely go ahead and complain.
