Samsung SH-S222L DVD Writer

I'm looking to buy a Samsung SH-S222L DVD Writer, but it seems to come in a number of different variants:

SH-S222L/BEBE
SH-S222L/RSMN
SH-S222L/RSMS

Does anybody have any idea what BEBE, RSMN & RSMS signify?

No clue, but I seriously doubt there will be any significant difference in use

When I buy writers, I just buy the cheapest decent make I can (that allows dual layer burning)

Yes, I'm pretty much looking at the cheapest too, this particular one can be had for £16.50.

I went to a local independant high street shop a few months back to see what they had
65 quid was their cheapest burner!

Thanks, what are kikatek like as a supplier? I've occasionally stumbled across them, but have no idea whether they're reliable.

Don't you have any sata connectors on your motherboard ?? Ide components don't seem as cheap as sata nowadays.

Yes, I do have 1 spare, but it's SATA I as opposed to SATA II. The Samsung should be fine, I'm not too bothered about a few quid extra.

The highest burst data rate that you're likely to get from a DVD reader/writer won't trouble SATA I at all - you simply won't need anything like 300 or 600 GB/s.
