Where to send my p45?

Hi. This is my first post on here and it's probably a silly question. October 2010 I started 2 part time jobs with 2 different companies. For one job I gave them a P45, the other I filled a P46 in. 1 job ended at the end of march 2011 and the other is still ongoing, but the company i finished with have just sent me a P45, what do I do with it? Will this affect my tax code as im doing less hours and obviously earning less money now. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

As far as I know you would just file it and give it to the next employer, if no new employer just keep it, a copy of your p45 that you received will have been sent to the HMRC so they will sort your tax out from thatmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thank you for your reply. Probably wrong section but my job i do have i earn £57 a week and im 28 living with my parents, am i entitled to any working tax credits and does this involve signing on to get them? confused.0

Keep the P45 you have received as it shows what deductions have been made in tax year 2010-11.
At the moment, does the employment where you earn £57/week deduct tax? If they do, then they will be deducting tax in the future unless they are advised by HMRC to apply a different tax code (which is likely to mean you have no tax to pay).0 -
No, as you live with your parents you are entitled to zilch Im afraid. Best maybe to look for another job to enable you to pay board and lodge, the upside isthat you shouldnt pay any taxmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

The following comes from The employer handbook E13 at
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/helpsheets/e13.pdfExisting employee gives you a form P45issue an amended one if appropriate.
If an existing employee gives you a form P45 from a second
job they have just left you should tell them to send the P45
Part 3 to their HMRC office who will review the tax code and0 -
if the tax code on the job you still have is BR or pretty much anything other than whatever 647L has changed to, then chrisbur's advice would seem spot on.Signature removed for peace of mind0
