Mould on Baby Items

Personally I wouldn't risk it, but I am a self-confessed over-worrier
As it's for a newborn, I wouldn't take any risks as they just don't have a sufficiently formed immune system to deal with any nasties, as an older child may well be able to.
It's annoying, and expensive, but I'd chuck it and start again.0 -
why not wash it all and see if it comes out? if it doesn't, then you can decide what to do. if you expect to have a healthy child and it comes out, it's no worse than buying second hand is it? you'd have no idea if a second hand item had been stored (many are) and then washed prior to you buying it.0

Really seems to split opinions!clearingout wrote: »why not wash it all and see if it comes out? if it doesn't, then you can decide what to do. if you expect to have a healthy child and it comes out, it's no worse than buying second hand is it? you'd have no idea if a second hand item had been stored (many are) and then washed prior to you buying it.
I see what you are saying here - but just because the stain doesn't come out does not gaurantee safety and it puts me off buying 2nd hand.
It is the car seat that is mouldy - so a newborn would use it. The other items are probably fine, but we would prefer a travel system anyway.0
