Zavvi reducing price right after order :(

I ordered a CD at £8.85 and literally a few hours later it had gone to £6.99 :(

When I queried it with them they basically said 'tough'. Very poor customer service imo, amazon for one go out of their way to fix issues like that for you.

It works both ways. Would you offer to pay the extra if the price had gone up? By ordering you imply that the price is acceptable. Unfortunately price changes are a feature of modern life. If you prefer Amazon's service then why weren't you using them?

It's very annoying but it's just one of those things and i'm sure it evens it's self out in the end. I bought a t-shirt last week for £35 then a couple of days later it was £25, on the plus side I was going to buy a power washer for £69.99 a couple of days later but decided to leave it I got it for £39.99 today from the same shop so technically i'm £20 up on purchases over the last week.

Like pmduk said you wouldn't offer to pay the extra if it went up after you bought it would you?:)

Amazons price matching policy when they reduce the price was stopped years ago.

Nope - I pre-ordered a CD just the other week (The Vaccines) and then got a refund without asking as the price was reduced after I ordered/paid for it.

Why's it a weird reply as the post says it goes both ways if prices go up after people have ordered things I never see people clambering to pay the difference. They are a business not a charity.

Yes the OP is able to return the item but they may be liable for return postage costs.

I think that's a different policy (the pre-order guarantee or something).

the amazon example is different as its a pre order and they guarantee on pre orders if the price drops before it is despatched they refund the difference. However if you order something from amazon and the price drops like in the ops example they won't refund the
    difference.

As others have explained thats the pre-order price guarantee, completely different to what I was talking about.

You used to be able to order any item and if they price dropped within 30 days, contact them and they would refund the difference.
