Thank you for your kind words. Like the OP i too have another dog(the one in my piccie) she will be so lost if zara doesn't make it. The vet said it was a difficult choice. Too risky to leave but risky to do. She will have to loose her front teeth and her gums. He said if it was his dog this is what he would do ......
Sorry did not mean to hijack this thread.thanks for listening

I dont think jan minds in the slightest, if you need a chat then just shout up.

I know just how you are feeling TJ had a cancerous lump on his bottom a few years ago, lucky for us it was all removed.

I know your Vet will do his best for Zara, so lets just hope and pray things will go ok. I will add you both to my prayers tonight xxxx
RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxx

I don't mind, you hijack away!

Sorry to hear and I really hope things go ok. The worry and upset when a beloved pet is poorly is terrible and its nice to have somewhere like this to post and be around others who understand. My friends are great, but they aren't animal people and just think "if a pet dies, you can just buy another one!"

Please come back and let us know how Zara gets on, I'll be thinking about you.
    xx

Thank you so much. Will post back tomorrow evening. My friends aren't doggy people either. Sitting here tickling her tummy as it is her favourite thing. She does not realise yet that she is fasting. She is such a greedy guts. Her big brown eyes will make me feel so guilty.

    Hi All,

I come on here with good news!! He's been into the vets and had a good examination (which he didn't like!) The lump in his mouth is harmless, I can't remember the exact name for it, but the vet said its very common and its just part of his gum. So pleased its not cancer!

With regards to his fits, he's not had another one since and the vet has now given me medication to control them. He has perked up since being on the tablets and has got the wag back in his stump!!

He is back to the vets on Friday to see how he is getting on, so fingers crossed we can keep him happy and healthy for a while longer!

Just sooooo pleased to have my crazy boxer boy back to his happy self again" :T

    :T That's good to hear.
Hi there. Glad your dog is O.K. Know what you have been through. Found a lump in my ten year old cavaliers mouth yesterday and the vet says it is cancer and they are removing it tomorrow. She has a dodgy heart so it is risky..wish it did not have to be done.:(

I hope all has gone well at the vets today & she is soon recovering well.

My little girl is home. I am so happy. The vet even managed to keep some of her teeth. He said that she did not respond well to the anasethtic so if it comes back he may not operate but for now she is well. She has even managed to eat some tea and leap on the sofa, totally ignoring the bed i had lovingly brought into the lounge.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and good wishes

Glad to hear she is home and things went ok. Pour yourself a drink and enjoy your cuddles, in fact give her a wee cuddle from us. xx

Good news, you must be very relieved. I hope she continues to do well & no more anasthetics / decisions about it are necessary
