Windows Restore Virus - Can't get PC back to orginal state?

Had this virus today, manually removed it and have done AVG scan.

But virus did something to my desktop, programmes etc. I know they're still there but don't know how to get them all back.

For example I now have two icons on my desktop.

If I go Start -> Alll Programmes it says [Empty].

Same going My Computer - C Drive - Programme Files.

Any ideas? I am in no way techie so in lament terms please!

    or follow these steps

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-windows-recovery

    in full

This infection family will also hide all the files on your computer from being seen. To make your files visible again, please download the following program to your desktop:

    Unhide.exe

Once the program has been downloaded, double-click on the Unhide.exe icon on your desktop and allow the program to run. This program will remove the +H, or hidden, attribute from all the files on your hard drives. If there are any files that were purposely hidden by you, you will need to hide them again after this tool is run.
