Halifax have announced that they will increase the rate of their Web saver account from 4.75% to 5.00%, effective 1st December 2006.
The information has just been added to their website: http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/home.shtml

Do we know if this will lead to a rate increase for the 3 month, 6 month options etcThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The 3 month option has an interest rate of 5.20% gross (5.30% AER), while the 6 month option pays 5.25% gross (5.32% AER). Both rates are showing as being effective from 17 November 2006. It looks like Halifax may have already increased their fixed rate products, following the BOE rate rise to 5.00%. Although, I would check their fixed rate offerings again on or after December 1st, as they may launch some higher rate Web Saver fixed rate options. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
Hopefully, Halifax will increase their ISA Saver Direct rate this week. Please call me 'Kazza'.0
