New Fish Tank

Hi Guys,

I have 2 goldfish who currently reside in a not very big home. I need to get them a new tank but being broke I can't exactly afford much.

I've looked on Gumtree but there doesn't appear to be much on there, Ebay they're all way down south and want collection- the cost of petrol would negate everything.

I can't seem to work freecycle at all so I wouldn't know whether there are any on there.

  • Have you actuallu registered with your local Free*cycle group (sorry, but don't understand what you mean by "can't seem to work").

    (you need a hot*mail. ya*hoo, li*ve etc email account)

You could also try posting a note in your local store/supermarket etc. Keep looking on Gumtree regularly as these are the types of things that go fairly quickly (I've just given one away via Free*cycle).

    Good luck

South Yorkshire. I've managed to register for one free cycle group but the larger group requires you to sign up to yahoo groups, so I have done so but it still won't let me post it.

If you feel the fish are suffering, and they will if the tank is too small, then as a temporary measure put them in a large plastic tub, like a recycling box, with the filter still going.Plenty of water changes and they should be ok for while.
  • if you find one thats been running for a while and still in use the last thing you want to do is clean out the filter, it has the good bacteria in it to filter ammonia nitrite and nitrate.
