Colour coding pipes in the home

Ok I'm currently changing my water and central heating copper pipes with the plastic barrier pipes.
Now I know that the gas copper pipe to the new boiler will have the yellow tape on it but want to check if there was a universial colour code for other pipes.
Basically I will have main water in, hot water, cold water, boiler condsener output, boiler overflow.
Some will be grey 15mm others white 22mm pipe.

pretty much universal in industrial/commercial world
pretty much unheard of in the domestic world0 -
we used to use the ANSI universal color code for pipelines, in industry. i used to work on medical/industrial gas pipelines etc...
as above, pretty much unheard of in domestic houses.Get some gorm.0 -
You shouldn't use the plastic barrier pipe for the gas supply its says so in the technical blurb from HEP2O and the polypipe variant.0

OP said that his gas pipes are in copper. You shouldn't use the plastic barrier pipe for the gas supply its says so in the technical blurb from HEP2O and the polypipe variant.
Polypipe is not a variant of Hep2o - its a completely different product.

Yep GAS is in copper pipe.
Thanks every1 for the information. Its just that I will have the 5 different pipes running along the bathroom wall so didn't want to make mistakes during the installation or of I have any future maintenance to do.
I'm doing most of the work with dad before we get a plumber to install boiler (trying to keep costs down).
But basically if I put a coloured tape band around each pipe and write down what each means I should be ok.0 -
It is not really necessary to colour code the pipes, but what is helpful, is to tie a little label on each of the isolating valves indicating its purpose. I found that had been done in my son's house, and it was a great help in working out what all the pipes do.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Might try this if you haven't already.
