My home is a mess

Loved the post Kazmeister! :T
I shall sit down and read it later as well as there seems to be rather a lot of "confessions":rotfl:can't think why????
Nice to know that having a messy home is normal but I would just like a few more square inches free from clutter and a clear worktop - that would be utter joy - I'm off to get on with the day
(I'm very impressed with rowsew training her kids to lick the windows to keep them clean -ingenious;))May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:0 -
Hi everyone this is such a lovely thread ...... really enjoying reading it.
Some of you have asked for the link to the Organizer lady website well here it is
http://www.messies.com/get_started/
have a read and if you want to, sign up for the emails..... I love the emails especially the bits where people tell you how they have put the ideas into action. Just so you know I have been a member for ages and as yet have not bought a single book or paid any money, .....very moneysaving :rotfl:
Anyway hope some of you find something that works for you.0 -
Decided to do stairs - found enough dog hair to knit a small Yorkshire Terrier.
Loved the confessions espceially about the painting (glad I'm not the only one to do this) - our stairwell hasn't been decorated for about 15 years as we too have a very big drop and I don't have a ladder or scaffold tower that will tackle it. Hallway had coat one over a year ago and still haven't got round to second coat (tell myslef I'll do this when stairs are done).
Feeling very virtuous after all this cleaning so will go and make some cupcakes as a rewardbest of luck to everyones cleaning efforts

I had to smile at this. There used to be a programme on TV, many years ago, called something like "Up My Stairs" where someone went into a house, and (I think it was Dame Edna Everage) went into the bedrooms and through all the cupboards, showing everything on TV, while the homeowners looked on from the studio. My son was only young at the time, and commented that it must all be faked because the houses were so tidy - surely no-one really lived like that!! (We certainly didn't)
I can't offer any suggestions for getting more organised - I've been trying for years without much success. I tried to declutter for half an hour yesterday, but only managed five minutes ..... oops!0 -

I have just read through Buddingblonde and it sounds like you are feeling more positive now. Mind you I did end up cleaning my fridge :mad:when the laptop run out of power (it won't work plugged in) so am not sure whether to thank you or cry. At least it's done now.:j
I felt the same at the beginning of the week and was starting to panic as I finish on maternity leave in five weeks and wanted it all done by then. I can't let the poor mite move in here and think it's mum is a slattern (can I use that word?). Anyway what I wanted to say is I have done bits and bobs here and there and it is s l o w l y getting better. Also if your fond of a cuppa it's surprising what can be done whilst waiting for a kettle to boil.
The windows are another story - horrible job.

I think that motivation like energy differs from day to day - Jackie made me clean a window last night. Will try and get one cleaned tonight but body is aching - have put a wash on and will sort that later and I am picking bits up for the charity shop everytime I see something.
I will try and see what I can do on tired days rather than planning day to day - a little is better than nothing.0 -
Absolutely, all those little bits will add up before you know it. I have used up a lot of my "spoons" yesterday too. I am however in the process of sorting through the clothes in my room, and am determined they will be tidied away by bedtime. Show off! I am thinking about doing mine but it seems a very big job.0

Window or bedroom? Once my lot have eaten I am taking the radio out of the kitchen back upstairs and staying there all night - well until 10pm then I am coming down to watch Gray's AnatomyIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
