Best Buy Tyres review

I wanted some new rubber and decided to go for some Uniroyal Rainsport 2 tyres. Why ? I had Michelin Energy Saver ones on there from when I picked up the car but they are coming to the end of their life on the front at around 22k miles (still some way off legal though) but the rears have decent tread left. However, they are crap tyres IMHO with little feel, no warning of when they will let go and I have no confidence in them. Where I live we have lots of water, loose gravel on the back roads and reviews from all sources game back with good reports for these tyres.
I wanted the tracking done at the same time with a decent rig so home fitting was not an option for me. My seemingly decent (now proved to be very decent) place was charging about £15 a tyre more than Best Buy but strangely they have a link to BB on their site ! Phoned but told to buy online for the cheaper price.
BB are shocking. They are inept, they lie, they admit their failings but continue to tell porkies. They take no responsibility for their actions and just seem like young girls who are playing a game. Their understanding of real world logistics is not sufficient and their online systems is little more than a video game to them. They don't care.
However, they do answer the phone when you call them, which some say they do not.
The real way to deal with these people is not to expect them to get your rubber to where you want it in a short time. If they say 2 days, then expect a week and you'll probably be fine after 4 or 5 days. Ask where it is on day 3 because they have missed day 2 and they will simply lie because they are inept. That said, anyone wanting 4 tyres knows in advance.
So the proof of the pudding is that if you can wait while they put together your tyre order and get their finger out of their bum then you can save money. However, if you need tyres tomorrow or must have them quickly, then you are best off using someone who can really get them or preferably has them now.

Not much to put up with really. I had no previous experience, the fitting place was the one I wanted to do the work, they had the best price etc. Couldn't see why I would choose elsewhere, especially after the garage themselves providing the link to BB. Finally, I had already paid before getting crap from BB though I knew from reviews that they sometimes had problems.
I didn't expect lies. I thought they would screw up at worst which they did but not with my choice, only my delivery date. In the end, I'd happily use them again but I would not look for them to fulfil their estimated delivery date and would order a week in advance.0 -
I will continue using Elite in rainham, every time i check blackcircles or mytyres they are still cheaper. They also give a good level of service.
I agree with your opinion of the michelin energy, not one of the best in the wet, but then it is an eco.tyre not a performance tyre, we have them on some Zafiras and they are ok, they are, erm, exciting when fitted to the old Astra 1.8 auto, though they were always a bit wayward when in a hurry.
The primacy is a much better tyre for performance, Costco near me has both tyres up for the same price £84 a corner fitted and balanced, even the bloke in there didn't know why they are both the same price, there used to be a £5-10 difference per tyre.0 -

My Local place smashes all net prices including fitting Mich & BFGs....and in the past Yokos.......
If the Net prices were to beat the local place I'd have them ordered into work and fit them myself.0
