Where's Grant Bovey Got His Money From????

i don't understand how if you go bankrupt your assets are considered as completely separate to your spouse but if you get divorced the same assets would be considered shared / marital assets.

    can anyone explain the logic??

Only that it would be a piece of cake to circumvent. Having seen bankruptcy coming a mile off, it is clear that as much of Bovey's money went Turner's way before anything hit the fan. That's a 'given'.

Now it doesn't take Einstein to add on a simple amicable 'quicky' divorce in which they both agree for him to own the dodgy company plus the clothes he stands up in. She gets everything else.

Then they remarry and live happily ever after...

Let's all give a bit of sympathy to these poor souls who worked so hard until bad luck robbed them of their livelihood, leaving them with a mere few £million. Now they have a house again, these destitute wretches are going to have to stump up quite a bit of council tax.

What is it about the BTL business that seems to attract this type?

I Have no problem with the business of renting out good quality property where there is choice and competition, but what we have now is tacky vile industry full of very unsavoury characters.

On more than one occassion i have withdrawn business from people working in this industry and have no problems telling them why i have done so. The sooner some regulation and standards are intruduced in the property renting game then sadly we will not see the last of the Bovey types.

This whole affair, as with many similar other ones leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

It really makes a mockery of the system when so many people have been left severely out of pocket by their actions and they can continue to 'lord it up'.

I do not agree with lisyloos views on this at all. Supporting each other through the bad times!!!

Whatever happened to 'what's mine is yours' and bringing them down with you.

People who have done this to other people should have to start from scratch i.e all the debts should be paid off and then IF there is any money left over from the spouse they are free to use that money as they wish.

The system is too open to abuse as someone mentioned earlier the funds are too easy to transfer to the other partner.
