Hi my Oh has just been made redundant after 10 years with immediate effect and no notice given, we have filled in the rp1 form to claim redundancy from the government but was wondering is notice pay still able to be claimed back as he has started a different job ?? plus does anyone know how many holidays your entitled to claim for is it so many days for so many weeks worked or just the holidays youve not used in the year??

I think you will be unfortunate regarding claiming notice as he is now employed.
Holiday is what has been accrued but not taken. For example holiday year is Jan to Dec and gets 28 days holiday. Divide by 12 to get the monthly rate. He will have accrued 3/12ths if he has taken this or more, not entitled to anything.0 -

Thanks this is helpful been trying to work it out but couldnt find anywhere what he could claim for, so as he hasnt had any holidays this year and it started on the 1st jan he would be entitled to the three days, is this right?HOPING TO BE DEBT FREE IN THIS LIFETIME! Until then Reclaimed £3100 PPi on Llyods loan , sealed pot challenge to be opened june 2011! No - like jazzyman01 says, the legal minimum is 28 days a year, which works out at just over two days a month (28 divided by 12) - if he was made redundant at the end of March, then if he hasn't taken any holiday since the start fo the year then he'd be entitled to (28 / 12 ) * 3 = 7 days.
But are you sure he didn't have 1st January off (a bank holiday) ? I believe bank holidays are included in the 28 days figure.....0 -
oh now i get it !! and yes thinking about it he did have the 1st off , will march be counted as he was made redundant on the 18th so this wasnt a full monthHOPING TO BE DEBT FREE IN THIS LIFETIME! Until then Reclaimed £3100 PPi on Llyods loan , sealed pot challenge to be opened june 2011!
