Expired MOT When Still Driving

More of a concern now after seeing her today: I found out she has not exactly rushed to make an appointment. She is under the impression because she has 28 days to pay the fine, that also means 28 days to get the car MOT'd. Eeek! I have told her that she is playing with fire not getting it done quickly.
tell her to get the mot done asap0 -
I made no comment about not disclosing a conviction for not having an MOT. I stated Insurers do not load for it.
Policy Applicants only have to declare information that is specifically asked.
Applicants are asked to declare ALL convictions.
You have no idea whether the OP's friend's insurers will consider the conviction applicable for loading. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Hi,
Like McKneff says... stop worrying.
It's not like she has previous driving offenses, it was a forgetful accident.
I think rules should be changed like when your insurance and tax are due to expire, you get a reminder but with MOT you don't.
In my opinion, this shows that they care more about tax and insurance than this.
Hope this helps!
WOuld be a good idea if this was in force that way no1 would forget.
I t have done this, along with my parents, easily done if you have a busy lifestyle.
As for MOT reminders, the garage I go to, asks if you would like a written letter sent out 2 weeks b4 your MOT is due for the following year, less hassle, plus money in their pocket the following year, but all in all a brilliant idea, maybe all garages should do this, or maybe if you were ask them to do this. You never know they just might.YNAB is my new best friend.0 -

I have plenty of idea thank you, Insurers do not load for a lack of MOT conviction. You cannot even declare it on their quote engines as it does not have an offence code. They are only interested in endorsable motoring convictions and non motoring convictions. Even then they can only ask you to declare them if they are not rehabilitated.
Go and find an insurer that allows you to input a no mot conviction, good luck0 -

There is no need to forget. Take a close look at your MOT cert. There is a peel off section that is designed to be stuck on say the tax disc holder as a reminder.
Unfortunately few people realise this.
The onus should be for vosa to ensure testers either place this in the car or make the driver aware of it's existance.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
