Hi
Can anyone tell me if I can sow these outdoors? It says to sow them indoors and then put into 3" pots/harden off etc but I was hoping I could just put them straight into the troughs I have outdoors. I know I'm so lazy

I don't see why not, but please wait for at least another 4-6 weeks at the earliest if you are going to sow them direct. Depending on where you are. I'm in the Midlands, if your further north then add a few more weeks to that.0

I'm in the North East so might have to wait even longer:( Thanks anyway:)Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

You need to wait till after the last frosts in your area. Morning Glory is a vine and will grow up to about 20 feet, so hope you've got some tall supports in your troughs, or are putting them where they can reach a fence or climb up a shrub. If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0

Thanks, I am going to place the planters along the bottom of the fence but didn't realise morning glory grew to 20':eek:Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Hi,
It does grow alot, but you don't have to keep on going upwards of 20', its pretty bendy IYSWIM, so once its at the top of say a 6' wigwam, then you can just bend it back downwards, then it will just keep on growing down and around. Hope that helps. It would grow along the ground in just the same fashion and tangle itself around your other plants, if you like the idea of that.0 -
We grow these every year with mixed results.
One thing we have learnt is they really don't like the cold so I agree with other posters don't sow to soon0
