Please virgin take that info down otherwise they may refuse you the dog.
Please anyone, don't quote or v's post will be on here forever.0 -
It's one poor dog who was wandering the streets remember Hethmar. Don't let us confuse Virgin with too much choice.
I have a feeling Virgin and Red will be at home together and get on great.0 -
Perosnally, I wouldn't have 2nd thought about getting a setter, they are amazing dogs, but if your not sure then perhaps you do need to keep looking. (Although you may be passing up a belter!)
If your near Bridgend is Llanelli that far away ? Perhaps an hour or so although I could be wrong geography has never been my strong point, have you tried Many Tears?

actually dont look, sadly there is far too much choice
but there might be one there to pick you!
YDSMI wish I would take my own advice!0 -

They were quite open about the owners policy, because they survive on donations & rehoming fees, they use the larger fees to help support the home - we were told that there was interest in him but the owner of the kennel wouldn't budge on price, so he's been there longer than expected - but to me the costs of housing him the last 6 weeks will have to be put against the price they want. The staff there are very good & obviously have an affinity with the dogs, I don't think they neuter or spade them but they did give us a voucher with Nell in case she came into season so she could be spade at a later date, so I don't know if it would be the same with an unneutered male.0 -
Red's are loopy, lovable, easily trained, and very loyal. We've had them for years as gundogs. They need lots of exercise, and are fantastic, whether as pets or working. Great with kids too- I remember a couple of ours occasionally being used as 'horses' by children....

My family took on my grandparents R.S when they couldn't take care of him because of illness, my sister thought he was a pony....who would pretty much eat chews on command coz if he didn't she'd try to stick her fingers up his nose so he had to open his mouth to breathe (toddler logic, lol).
I remember him as being big, daft, bit too stubborn for his own good at times (usually meal times, he insisted on his bowl being in the middle of the kitchen door and wouldnt eat if it was anywhere else) but incredibly placid and gentle around the house. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Oh that's fine then. Some doggy people are so sensitive I was worried you may be harming your chances.virgin_moneysaver wrote: »They were quite open about the owners policy, because they survive on donations & rehoming fees, they use the larger fees to help support the home - we were told that there was interest in him but the owner of the kennel wouldn't budge on price, so he's been there longer than expected - but to me the costs of housing him the last 6 weeks will have to be put against the price they want. Appreciate that padstow, but as virgin seems to be more attracted to and experienced with springers, it seems worthwhile exploring those which also have no home of their own0
