Advice on some land near me

Hello there, I come with a question to all of you that know about land and laws etc
I already have a house, and near it is a field that appears to be a wheat field. I have always been worried about homes being built on it, but when a search was done on the area no planning or applications have been made on it in the 60 year history of that area, doesnt mean there wont be though I guess ?
I have come across a document from 2008 that states that that land has a medievil moat site on it. I enclose the link to the pdf, page 33 blue area.
Does anybody know if there any laws or restrictions on such sites please ?
thanks in advance
