This is the third xmas that I've used this great recipe and this year's are definitely the best. I didn't roll out the pastry as thin as I have done in the past and all 31 of the mince pies have turned out really well, no problems with them falling apart. So thumbs up here again for this fab recipe! :D

my OH is a baker by trade, proper one not one of those
ones in the supermarket who spend their days baking off

and the results and amazed I made them so well !

Researcher, I'm watching the Great British Bake off and this weeks theme is pastry and I immediately thought of you and your lovely neighbour and this recipe.

Will be using it again soon as I'm inspirid to bake.

I can't believe its almost 4 years from the original post and it's a great feeling to know that so many people have enjoyed these mince pies. My neighbour no longer bakes as her eyesight is too bad - but the recipe lives on.............

i've never made mince pies but it sounds a lot like the recipe for pastry my dear old nan used to use. she would have been 90 if she was alive today.

i'm looking forward to testing this recipe on the family x

Bought Trex today - not easy to find but it was with the other 'hard' margarines - before/after the soft spreads.
