Which card for poor credit rating and 0% balance transfer

Hi all i have just applied for the capital one progress card and initially been accepted i am looking for a credit card to do a 0% balance transfer on as i have alot of debts on different credit cards, two of the cards being vanquis at 54% apr

Any suggestions for credit cards lower than 54% apr but likely to be accepted with bad credit

Thanks Jo

I think you will find virtually no takers for your business - sorry.

Just how bad is your credit rating?
If you can't get an interest free card try for a loan (use a reputable company only - anybody asking for a fee or your bank/card details before the money is in your account is scamming you!) with a lower interest rate.
  • Yeah my credit rating is quite low i havent logged on to experian for a long time but i will have to check again, credit rating is low however i have no ccj or defaults and i make my payments on time each month

Loan isn't an option me and hubby both have one with the bank and they won't extend them because we are in our over drafts each month

Thanks for your response we will just have to get some extra money of the cards, fingers crossed i get the captial one progress and one of the cards can be transfered onto there

  • I have to agree with jonesMUFCforever. Poor credit rating and 0% balance transfer are pretty much mutually exclusive.

Also, Capital One tend to give out quite low credit limits for their Classic and Progress cards (£200, £300 etc) so I doubt you'd be able to transfer much onto the card.
Debt free and staying that way!

Why don't you post up a statement of affairs on the debt free board using the link at the top and let others have a look at your income and outgoings to see where income can be increased and outgoings can be reduced.

As you are into your overdraft each month you are clearly struggling and more credit is just not an option IMO. You need to take positive action NOW to address what is going to be a downward spiral.
  • I have done a staement of affairs and we are in alot of debt but can manage our minimum payments, may sound silly but it's cheaper for us to be in our overdrafts and paying debts than the interest adding up on other debts, we are putting £80 away a month for saving/emergency funds just in my wisdom hoped i could get some debts transfered for 0% for a few months (one of our credit cards is 54.4% apr which is why it is cheaper to be in our over drafts.

    Thanks for all the advice
