I shop in Waitrose all the time, I love it. Some of the things in there are pricey but they tend to be more unusual things you can't get elsewhere as easily. In my local branch it seems like most of the products have got a sign on saying they're the same price as Tesco etc anyway! Main thing I love about it though is that the reductions are brilliant! I did a shop in there a few weeks ago and got about £40 worth of stuff for just under a tenner, filled my freezer up :)

Here's a tip as well - if you buy something that's on offer and reduced, it still takes the offer off. E.g. went in recently and they had ready meals £2.29 each or three for a fiver. I got three that were reduced to £1.09 each, the till still took off £1.87 (the difference between three meals at full price of £6.87 and £5) so three meals ending up costing me £1.40!

Do they not have quick check there? We have Quick Check in our store and its fab, tells you how much you're spending as you go along.

I find Waitrose great if you shop carefully, you do pay for quality

so similar to the sainsburys fast track, you scan as you go and when you come to pay you dont unpack unless its a random rescan and you pay and go, very quick
  • I did notice the quick checks when I walked in, but couldn't find someone to tell me how to use them - I assume that they are the self service scans like Safeway had - but as I had already taken cash out, I didn't know if I had to pay with the card at the end - so didn't use it.

I went to another shop and spent 90 this weekend - didn't buy exactly the same stuff, but near enough.

We can only buy local milk here which is £1.01 per litre and they don't do online shopping - although checking online we are still more expensive!

The bread I bought last week was too dry so I'm not missing out there.

May try it again at some point but with the quick scan thing to see how much I am spending on the way around.

still wish it was Tesco or Asda!
