You will get a book from your accom. We went to the Haven site with a Sun holiday. The area is all very nice, there isnt a huge ammount to do though. We walked into town down the front, kids loved the walk. We drove down the spit. Into Hull. And we went to The Deep. But its not cheap for your lot! Vouchers are available for most things. Climb the lighthouse. Drive up the coast to Bridlington. Lots of places offering free kids meals....so eating out wasn't expensive.
but it was very windy and wild when we were there. I dont think it is anything else though....right on the north sea!
And we were cold. So if yr going to a caravan...take a heater or 2. The heaters provided were not capable of keeping us warm!
Glad we went though....but wouldnt go back! (Have a look n the estate agents windows)!

    Hi,
just returned from a stay in Hornsea staying at Hornsea lake lodges.
Bridlington is worth a visit for a day.
Hornsea has a freeport outlet for discounted shopping and also a mere for messing about on the water.Whilst away last week spent a day at Beverley races a great day out with a tour of the city before racing,Thursday 16th April next race day, £5 entry for central area.
    Hope this helps

Hull is 18 miles away there's the deep could spend 4 hours in there but kids just want to fly round and get to where all the fish etc are. Also all the museums are all free. The transport museum, Maritime museum, Wilberforce house, Ferens art gallery. Lots of shops individual with 3 shopping arcades.
  • I went camping to Withernsea last year. Stayed at the Park Resorts site.

Spurn Point is great if the weather is good. lots of wildlife and endless beaches. My kids (6&4) has great fun beachcombing as we walked along the beach to the lifeboat station.
You have to pay to drive down the spit but its only about £1. We parked half way down and walked to the end and back.

The lighthouse museum in Withernsea was good fun as my kids were braver than me and managed to climb all the way to the top. The museum has a nice big garden at the back where the kids can run round and they have a little game for kids to find all the animals hidden around it. Kept them amused for ages. The people that run it are lovely and friendly and gave the kids certificates for climbing to the top which they were both very proud of!

Also another vote for Hull, theres all sorts to do there.

I live near Driffield not far from Withernsea.

Some places of interest ? theres the Ull ones as has been mentioned, theres also the Humber Bridge country park if you want a walk.
Beverly has its racecourse and great Saturday market.
Down the coast is the Secret Nuclear Bunker http://www.rafholmpton.com/ , not been yet myself but am lead to believe its a very good tour around a cold war nuclear bunker, lasts approx 2.30 hrs.
Flamborough head and its light house.
Sea trips to Flamborough from Brid are decent.
Skirlington Sunday car boot and Market is a huge open air and part covered market.
Hornsea has the usual shops and attractions.
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful
