Child benefit for college end date?

Got a form to fill in as son is in his last year of school. He's going to college (to do a levels) so he is continuing his education - and there's a bit that asks when they will finish this course or take their final exam.

I've looked at the info we have from college and they have no idea when exams are for next year, let alone the year after - so what date do I write on it?

Do I write 31st August 2013? Or do I randomly make up some date before then?

(I'm hoping he'll go to university if the fees don't put him off! So does that make a difference?)

Thanks in advance

When my daughter was staying on in education after 16, I was in the same situation. I just put July 2010 ? on the form as I was not aware of the exact end date or the exact last exam date.

This was accepted by them. When she actually left full time education in June 2010, I advised tax credits and child benefit accordingly.

The tax credits in respect of my daughter stopped immediately. The child benefit continued until the beginning of September.

Hope this is of some help to you.

My daughter has gone to 6th form to do A levels, she's in her first year now so I just put July 2012 for the end date.
