British gas boiler fitting

hello
anyone had a boiler fitted by british gas?...had a quote from them and £3000 seems a little high...basic price of boiler was fine but almost £2100 of extras...340 for flushing system 240 for filter and lots of bits and boobs which you would think were part of bolier..any thoughts

BG will always be at least 30% more expensive. Get at least 2 quotes from local independent RGI's.

A good number of years ago, British Gas gave me a quotation for fitting a new combi-boiler and central heating radiators in my small flat. They wanted almost £6,000.

Last year, I eventually got round to having the work done by a local firm. Price for the whole job was half of what BG had asked.

I have a subscription with Which Magazine, and found a list of recommended local firms. Asked the 3 most-recommended to give me a quotation. All 3 were half the price of BG.

My daughter had a new combination boiler fitted last year by an independent gas fitter, it cost £1000.00. Admittedly he was swapping one boiler for another but I suspect BG would have been twice the price.
