Network Q - 4 month old car (to me - 3.5 age) and looks like a shot exhaust

I think my exhaust is shot. Waffling under pressure, looked underneath and it is not pretty. My guess is a replacement. However, I've all manner of guarantees from Network Q and don't anticipate any issues, certainly as I've only put 2k onto a 21k mileage.

I'm off in the morning to see them but not at the dealer I bought it from. Not anticipating any real issues but you never know.

Comments welcome.

I doubt that you will get a new exhaust off the dealer, its one of those 'consumables' that is not normally covered.

    Good luck though.

    It's called a public forum?;)
  • Took it to a Vauxhall dealer and it couldn't have been easier. Had a guy out who got it up on a ramp and stuck something on the exhaust, and the diagnosis was that there was perhaps a bit of play around a clasp. See how it goes for a week and then if I still think it is there or the seemingly loss of power feels continual then they've got the go ahead from Network Q (after an call and follow up email) to runs diagnosis tests. I'd only have to arrange when a suitable courtesy car was available.

I was impressed I'll be honest. Reassurance, informed by the guy speaking to Network Q that even as a consumable there would be no bill if they had to replace the exhaust section because it had done so few miles and I'd done so few miles but overall simply because of the fact that if it was not going to last at least 24 months, then the selling garage should have replaced it before purchase.

I paid a good price for the car but yes, it was a perhaps a couple of hundred over that which I could have paid for a similar car from Bodge 'em and Run Ltd or from Fred Carno down the estate but on first impressions of having to see if Network Q backed up their warranty, I could not have been more impressed.
