I wish to keep my ING account open, but with just £1. I put a regular monthly sum in there which I would like to cancel, there doesn't seem to be a facility on their website for stopping the DD.

According to thisismoney ING will be "launching a new internet-only account, available to existing customers, which will pay 5.25%."
Still not the best rate but worth keeping a pound in there if you ever wanted to open one.

Yes but, I've heard that their new account will NOT pay interest on the whole of the balance for any month in which a withdrawal is made.0 -
