Is this okay- Ebay?

I'm wanting to open a new Ebay account, specifically for selling as I want to keep my buying and selling separate.
As I have zero feedback, am I allowed to put in the name of my other account, so people can view my feedback?
TIA

Why don't you use the other account for selling and the new one for buying?:j30/7/10:j

Actually that's a good point, it's just that I've always used it for buying, I think that might be easier, thanks0

Wouldn't revealing your buying ID rather defeat the object of having seperate accounts?0

Only if you have annoyed some sellers who may be out for revenge. Assuming the buying account is in good standing and OP has not been in the habit of leaving poor feedback or being 'silly' it does make more sense to change that to the selling account and just open a new buying account.

If you link them, them buy to re-sell, everone can see what you paid though.0 -
I'm obviously missing the point - why would you need 2 seperate accounts if you are going to cross reference them? I assumed the OP was buying to sell.0
-
No I just wanted to have them separate as it would be slightly easier to help me to keep track of what's going in and out. I'm just selling little bits and peices and occasionally sell on items that I have bought and don't fit etc.
I thought that I may have had trouble selling items with a new account and no feedback.
I think I will use the current buying account to sell and then a new one for buying as it makes more sense.

Your feedback as a buyer is WORTHLESS as a seller.
Just use the one account. You're making it unnecessarily complicated having two. I can understand it for business but not for personal.0 -
You can open second account certainly but start with zero feedback. But eBay may verify your new account when you started selling which can take quite a long period of time0

I would never ever use the same account for buying and selling and I think the OP is being very sensible seperating the two. AS a buyer you cna occasionally run into poor sellers and maybe have a dispute or even have to leave them poor feedback if something cannot be resolved.
The risk of using the same account to sell is that a malicious seller might then turn round and buy from you just so they can hurt your feedback or stars. This is very very rare but even with threads on here we do get the occaisonal user who when a seller has a buyer who is annoying them immediately suggests 'seeing if they also sell on the same account so you can buy something just to leave them anonymous 1* ratings to get back at them'.
The fact that it gets mentioned on here quite a bit suggests this is a normal thought pattern for a certain type of person, so as usual although it is unlikely to happen if it can be protected against then you might as well do so.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
