Heritage or Heirloom vegetable plug/plants anywhere online?

Hello! :)

We're hoping to grow some of our own veg this year in a raised bed. We'd really like to be able to use heritage or heirloom vegetables, but as we don't have the ability to grow them from seed we are looking to see if there is a company online who sells these as plugs or plants.:A

Any suggestions? (Love this forum btw!)

Thanks!

You'll find no F1 hybrids or genetically modified seed here - just varieties that do really well and taste great
when grown by hand on a garden scale.
Many are rare heirlooms, and all are open-pollinated (non-hybrid) so you can save your own seed
for future years, using the instructions we supply.

    Sorry. Couldn't resist. :p
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I'd like to know 2 things.
    1. Why you specifically want to grow heritage vegetables?
    2. Why you don't have the ability to grow from seed?

And what sort of things do you want to grow? I'm aware that's 3 things :D I don't think you'll find anywhere that sells plants from heritage strains btw, but I may be wrong.

I am still trying to work out "We don't have the ability to grow from seed," when OP has a raised bed.

How raised is it? Above 500m, I concede they might have a bit of a problem. :)

Edit: Doh! lotus got 'ere first!...

I've got some heritage tomatoes from Homebase before (not online though and needed picking through for good plants).

Have also bought from the following (but not ordered plug plants from them before):

    http://www.victoriananursery.co.uk/vegetable_plants/

Their fruit canes that I ordered from there were excellent and well packed, just make sure you order enough to make the postage worthwhile.

Thanks for the reply! We'd like to grow heritage veg because we enjoy the history of these particular veg and like the different looks and tastes! But our new raised be won't be arriving til 1 May, so will be a bit late for seed growing for some veg. I'm also too busy with a big project to start growing from seed in trays, etc at the moment - this year I'm willing to pay for little plants! :A

I found one site yesterday called https://www.vegplugs.co.uk which sells plants from heritage seed!
