Slightly late payment

Hello, I, due to a plumbing disaster, will make a cc payment about two days late. Last year I did the same by about the same time scale (stupid, I just forgot) I will be able to make the payment required but last time I was served a default notice. I must admit I have not thought of getting a very short term loan. I get paid in a few days so it would only be for a week and also a one off.
However I understand that these types of companies telephone your employer.
I really would not want that.She is a prize !!$££&&!!:mad:
