Just received an email today after searching for a room in Bristol (26 results without code, SIX with code). Their response:
    Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for your recent email. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble redeeming your Groupons with alpharooms.com .
Upon entering a code, a limited number of hotels will drop out of the results (or be filtered out if you prefer) because they are ‘pay on checkout’ hotels that only take payment when the customer checks out and will not or can not discount their rates, and so alpharooms.com simply hide these from customers that are able to supply a voucher code. This is why fewer results appear.
I hope this information helps, and please let me know if there is anything further I can help with.
    Kind regards,
    Amanda

Replied stating that no notice of this was given on Groupon's page, and that "limited number of hotels" is a completely false description of what's occurring on the site.

    Boo.

I've got exactly the same thing - only I can't get a single hotel anywhere near where I want to go! @I rang Alpharooms & they said it's because all the hotels that arte available without voucher, you would pay on arrival, rather than via the site, so therefore they can't honour the voucher. They said I should contact Groupon for a eefund, but not sure if they will refund it this long after purchase?

I'm wondering that too. I haven't heard back from Groupon yet, but if they can't fix the problems (sounds unlikely), I will press for a refund. Groupon was responsible for making sure this detail was included in the T&Cs and they failed to do that.

I rang Groupon 2 days ago, and they promised to contact Alpharooms and then get back to me, but so far I've heard nothing. Well annoyed now! Have you got any further at all?
