TV / aerial / co-ax / scart problem !!!

I hope you can help.
I have four TV’s in the house running off the same aerial/sky.
I have always used a splitter with a booster off the main set and it has worked well. I was able to play videos in the living room which could be watched in the bedrooms.
Since buying a new DVD-VHS recorder, I can still watch all channels including Sky, but cannot pick up the video or DVD anywhere except on the main TV. I think it is something to do with the fact that the videio/DVD signal comes to the TV through a scart lead and the rest come through the co-ax cable. I don’t understand why they don’t come through the co-ax like before.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks

I have a similar arrangement.
Where/when do you use the splitter? You would need to split the signal after it leaves the video to pickup the output0 -
1) Sky dish to SKY box.
2) Co-ax Aerial to SKY box to DVD to SPLITTER to TV1/2/3/4
3) Scart connections from SKY box to DVD and from DVD to TV1.
Thanks for your help.:grouphug: Things can only get better.0 -
I'm kind of guessing, but perhaps the video is playing on a differnent channel from your previous one.
Is it worth playing a video and then retuning one of the teles to see if it can be found on a different frequency?0 -
Thanks but I've tried that (with a DVD anyway) would a video make a difference?:grouphug: Things can only get better.0

Does your new DVD/Video have coaxial connections ?
The Coaxial system should be wired like this.
TV Aerial ->> Sky Box ->> DVD/Video --> Splitter Booster ->> to each TV.
The scart leads is a seperate system (to the RF coaxial one). The scarts will only work to the Local TV. ie the Tv the scart lead is plugged into.0 -
No it shouldn't
I can't think why it doesn't work, if I come up with anything I'll post back.
if you remove the scart from DVD to TV1, can you get the picture there via another channel?0 -
Just thought,
There may be an option in the Menu's on the new DVD/VHS to set where the output signal goes.
At present it may be only going to say the Scart socket AV1 you may be able to change it to AV2, RF or a combination AV1 + RF etc0 -

standalone DVD players usually don't have an RF (Coaxial) system and the output would usually be sent directly to the Scarts or to Svideo etc. It may be that your DVD/VHS player is doing the same. So I would try a video0 -
I had assumed that it was a combined DVD/Video recorder - is that correct?0
-
It is a combi and I have now tried retuning with a DVD and a video. No luck.
Cypher I can find various menu options, but nothing that looks anything like changing output from AV1 to AV2 etc.
thanks all:grouphug: Things can only get better.0
