NatWest Debit card - use in the post office?

My mother has recently transferred her bank account to a NatWest Current Plus account.
She has a new debit card (NatWest Visa) but on taking it into her local post office she has been informed that she cannot use it to withdraw money over the counter.
I checked with my local post office - same response.
I checked with NatWest - they say that their Visa Direct Debit card CAN be used to withdraw money over the post office counter!
So who's wrong? Who's right?
This is very annoying as I recommended that my mother transfer to NatWest as I was told the same thing by them a few months ago, and now she's being told otherwise by the p.o.
Help?
Thanks

No, you can't.
The only accounts that you can use in the Post Office are those listed at http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/content1?catId=19400181&mediaId=19700174, and also Halifax.
I believe that Natwest are hoping to allow PO access at some point in the future.GustyGardenGalaxy wrote: »This is very annoying as I recommended that my mother transfer to NatWest as I was told the same thing by them a few months ago, and now she's being told otherwise by the p.o.
Natwest are notoriously difficult to deal with; I don't expect that this will be the last thing that causes your mother difficulties if she continues with Natwest!0 -
Oh dear - my mother moved to NatWest from Santander (who of course are VERY difficult to deal with!). Even some people here recommended NatWest over Santander.
I should say that I have been with NatWest for over 30 years and have NEVER had a problems with them.0 -
The Post Office website shows that a debit card from a NatWest Step Account (a basic bank account) can currently be used to withdraw cash from the Post Office.

It is hoped that other NatWest account holders will have this facility "by the end of the year".

Thanks, interesting.
Is there any way that a NatWest Step Account can be linked to their Current Plus Account, so that the Step debit card can be used to withdraw money from the Current Plus account? It is hoped that other NatWest account holders will have this facility "by the end of the year".
