Santander have charged me £ 36 for a cheque returned due to insufficient funds in my current account though there is plenty of money in other saving accounts with them..Can I get the charges back ?

It's not the bank's responsibility to manage your money and move it round your accounts as and when. If it's your first charge then if you ring them up they will often remove as a goodwill gesture.0
