Anyone ever used a Lawn Sweeper?
I'm looking for something to make my life easier in the autumn and came across these leaf sweepers, anyone know if they actaully work?
Eg. http://www.mower-magic.co.uk/acatalog/Manual_Push_Sweepers.html
I'd like to use it on the lawn to pick up horse chestnut leaves, conkers, birch nuts etc.

I would imagine that wet leaves and heavier items would make it struggle
also an undulating garden could prove troublesome.
why not advertise for a kid to come and earn some pocket money half a day once a week for £10 most 14-16 year olds would be happy give him a rake a bucket and a feeling of a job well done.
its even easier for you you just sit on a chair with a nice hot cup of your favourite tipple and superviseTHE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0 -

I have used a similar machine from Wolf for many years.you have to get used to them to find the right height setting for the amount of stuff on the ground ..If the brush is too low and the ground wet or the grass too long its quite hard to push and the wheels can skid if the brush can't rotate freely..They are also good to pick up the grass if you use the mower without the grass box if you've let it grow so long as to clog it up.

Rake and use your mower - doing this every day at the moment! This will do the job the ground is wet/very soft. A blower vac is good for gravel/beds!
Forgot to say that Lawn Sweepers do work but tend to get very heavy and aren't very manoevrable!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -
Thanks a million for all the comments, I had a feeling they might not be as perfect as I'd dared to hope, spending all that money on something that's going to be as frustrating as my blower/vac (great for blowing but get's clogged up every time I try to such up leaves) would be daft.
I've been doing lots of raking but so far I've avoided using the mower because it's really heavy and the ground is pretty soft up here in Lancashire. Sounds like I need to get it out & use it..
Sitting on a chair with a glass of mulled wine supervising sound like the best solution but that'll have to wait until the kid(s) are old enough, there's no money left afetr nursery fees!0 -
